Sparta Rotterdam is a Dutch professional football club from Rotterdam. The club was founded in 1888 by eight young people between the ages of 13 and 16. This makes it the oldest club in professional football in the Netherlands. Only eleven amateur football clubs in the Netherlands are older than Sparta. Since 1916, Het Kasteel has been the home base of the club from Spangen.
