Brazil market values: Endrick most valuable player born in 2006 - Estêvão on the rise
Endrick remains the most valuable player in Brazil following the recent Série A market value update. Overall, Transfermarkt has updated the market values of 617 players playing in the Brazilian first division with Estêvão and Luis Guilherme now joining Palmeiras teammate Endrick in the top five of the most valuable playing in Série A. Joining the highly talented Palmeiras trio as players to watch are Lorran (Flamengo) and Grêmio’s Gustavo Nunes.
The countdown for Endrick to join Real Madrid is on. The 17-year-old will finally turn 18 on July 21, making him eligible to move to Europe and join Real Madrid. There is no doubt that the teenager is ready for the move as he recently scored for Brazil against England (1-0), Spain (3-3) and Mexico (3-2). “Endrick is still on the rise,” Transfermarkt Area Manager Brazil Marcos Watts said. But before he is headed to Spain, Endrick received one last Série A market value update going up by €5m to now €60m. Together with PSG’s Warren Zaïre-Emery, Endrick is the most valuable player born in 2006 (overview).
Endrick is off to Real Madrid, and it is only a question of time until Estêvão will join him in Europe. “Born in 2007, Estêvão is quickly becoming a monster of a player, rising up to big occasions for Palmeiras,” Watts said. “A move to one of Europe’s top leagues seems imminent now with Chelsea as one of the favorites to get him. The transfer fee will be high and so are the expectations in the 17-year-old winger.” Indeed, in anticipation of a high transfer fee, Transfermarkt has increased Estêvão’s market value by 200% to now €30m. That makes the Palmeiras star the second most valuable player born in 2007 behind Barcelona star Lamine Yamal (overview).
Market values Brazil: Guilherme, Lorran and Nunes are part of the next wave
Overshadowed a bit by Endrick and Estêvão is 18-year-old Palmeiras striker Luis Guilherme. “He might not have developed as quickly as Endrick or Estêvão but he is still on the verge of becoming a great footballer,” Watts said about Luis Guilherme, who will join West Ham this summer for €23m. “A move to England to a club outside the big six might just provide him the best environment, time and pressure he needs, while playing in the best league in the world.” With the West Ham move only a question of time, Guilherme saw his market value increased to €24m making him the fourth most valuable player in the Série A.
There are, however, also talented rising stars away from giants Palmeiras. At Flamengo, 17-year-old attacking midfielder Lorran has seen his market value increase by 300% to now €12m. “Man, this boy is an artist,” Watts said. “I know there’s a tendency of saying every player from Brazil is skilful, but Lorran’s ball control is really something else. He also shows good vision and the ability to play both as a central attacking midfielder or right winger. Another great talent from Flamengo destined for Europe.”
Lorran is one name that stands out another is Grêmio’s Gustavo Nunes. “Yet another very fast, skilful and offensive minded winger from Brazil,” Watts said about Nunes. “With just a few games for Grêmio, Nunes has earned a spot in the team and contributes every opportunity he gets. It won’t take long until he becomes an important player for his club and draw interest from abroad.” Only 18, Nunes has already scored five goals and five assists in 27 games across all competitions and, as a result, saw his market value increase by 400% to now €10m.
How Transfermarkt market values work
The Transfermarkt market values are calculated, taking into account various pricing models. A major factor is the Transfermarkt community, whose members discuss and evaluate player market values in detail. In general, the Transfermarkt market values are not to be equated with transfer fees.
The goal is not to predict a price but an expected value of a player in a free market. Both individual transfer modalities and situational conditions are relevant in determining market values. Examples of this are listed below. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (you can find the detailed market value definition here).
